SCG's Commitment to Accessibility
BackIn the technology industry, products and their capabilities are changed and improved daily. SCG understands that while the improvement of product functionality is significant in enhancing efficiency for users of the respective products, there is an equally significant and corresponding need to ensure that the functionality is readily available to all users.
Our effort to achieve product accessibility for all begins with diligent research of evolving accessibility capabilities and continues with the development and incorporation of these capabilities into functions across our product line. With each release of Property Finder, we further empower our customers to enjoy our products and make informed choices about SCG products that best serve them.
For Our US State and Local Government Customers
ADA Compliance
The United States Department of Justice has affirmed that the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) applies to all services, programs, and activities of state and local governments, including those offered on websites and web-based applications.
Title II of the ADA prohibits discrimination against people with disabilities in all services, programs, and activities of state and local governments and requires state and local governments to take steps to ensure that their communications with people with disabilities are as effective as their communications with others.
The Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA are a set of internationally recognized standards developed by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) to ensure that digital content is accessible to all users, including those with disabilities. These guidelines provide a comprehensive framework for making web content more accessible and user-friendly. The ADA Title II regulatory rule, published to the Federal Register in April 2024, establishes WCAG 2.1 Level AA as the technical standard for accessibility compliance.
Accessibility Conformance Reports (ACRs)
To assist our state and local government customers in assessing our information and communication technology (ICT) products for accessibility, SCG has developed Accessibility Conformance Reports (ACRs), which explain how our ICT products conform to the standards of Section 508 of the US Rehabilitation Act of 1973 for IT accessibility. SCG evaluates products using the evaluation tools available at https://wave.webaim.org/.
